Ref: Parcelforce handling fee
My business involves sending parcels abroad and there is an occasional return. When this occurs, using the C&E guidelines, I get the sender to put "Return of personal belongings" which SHOULD NOT mean that import duty is attracted on the return.
However, often it is because the stated insured value is levied by a daydreaming customs officer. The point I want to make is that IN THE CASE OF A MISTAKE LIKE THIS, I can reclaim the wrongly levied taxes (a process not for the faint-hearted, taking 3 months to process and return your money), but the PACELFORCE HANDLING FEE is not reimbursed. This mistake happens regularly and an appeal falls on deaf ears. Essentially, due to the incompetance of the customs officer in that he has wrongly levied duty, I am out of pocket £13.50 every time. Once the handling fee has been deducted, that is it, even though it is their mistake. I hope the money goes towards training customs officers!

I to have been the victim of grubby little paws in where they should not be. I sent a Ntendo Wii consol to my 8 year old son overseas as a xmas present. 3 months later and they are still dealing with a backlog of previous claims. Meanwhile there is nothing i or anyone can do. Reading the comments here, i am not sure if my sons Wii is nicely nestled in another house being played with after he comes home from parcelforce from a long day or sniffing through everyone's goods. No service not helpful, although there are a few individuals in the claims department that seem to show some level of helpfulness. Or at least they are just so used to people calling they know how to defuse the situation already.

Utter crap, bad company to deal with, wont make the same mistake twice. If i ran my company like that i would be sitting outside on my arse, broke.

Yes - an appaling company, totally inefficient van delivery service with defective online transaction system. I am still waiting for my parcel after TWO WHOLE months!!

They don't answer the telephone, their complaints line is via email only and is just template info. When I finally accessed the item via the sender in USA and UPS (not from a card Parcelforce left in my door as despite having my telephone number they did not call to check the address), I requested on the parcelforce website to have the package sent to my local Post office cos they messed up finding my house already. Instead, I discovered 5 days later that package had been sent back to the International Hub and could take 21 days if not returned to USA. What CRAP!!!! So then WHO will pay to resend....parcelforce???? This Company used to function one time. What happened? Thanks for this space....wonder if CEO will read it...?

Day 13. Called Parcel Force, told package will be delivered today. Waited in all day. No Parcel. Called Parcel Force, told package will be delivered tomorrow.

Day 14. Waited in all day. No Parcel.

Day 15. Called Parcel Force, told package will be delivered today. Again, no parcel.

Fuck Parcelforce and their absolutely service. The are lying thieving bastards.

I sent a rare Guild acoustic guitar with Parcelforce paid additional for the insurance 'just in case'. The guitar was packaged in the original flight case designed and built by the company to transport their instruments around the world, this has happened for the last 100 years!!The case was also wrapped with an additional cardboard covering to protect it from scratching on route. The guitar arrived snapped, something which could only occur as a result of having been thrown excessively hard, THREE MONTHS after the claim form was made a so called 'independent inspector' arrived to assess the guitar, despite admitting to the purchaser that the guitar must have been thrown hard to cause the damage, I recieved a letter today to say that thay would not compensate as the item was insufficiently packaged. I wonder what qualification this 'inspector' has that enables him to assess the suitability of a case that was designed and built by one of the best guitar companies in the world as insufficient to protect the item!! The company are a complete farce and yes I would be interested in getting involved in any action to discredit them and finally end the mysery of so many innocent people who make the mistake of sending items with them.

I've also recently had a problem with Parcelforce.

I ordered something online and requested the parcel 24 hour service as I needed it before the weekend.

Taking a day off on the day I was expecting it I was mortified to look at the online tracking to check it was still out for delivery only to see they had attempted delivery and it was being held. No doorbell, no card left, nothing. Anyway, to get something redelivered you need the number on the card (which I didn't have because no one actually bothered to deliver it in the first place). Sent an email and called them up and request it be redelivered. Anyway a few long phone conversations later and to cut a long story short, it arrived 5 days later on the Tues after the weekend so was pretty much redundant to me by then.

Strangely enough I got an email reply on the Tues (5 days later) saying that according to their systems it had been delivered and signed for. Yes brilliant thanks for that!

Looking on their website it says you're eligible for a full refund if their 24 hour service is not met on time. I emailed them saying I was expecting a full refund only to be told..."The 24 hour delivery speed is guaranteed but if we attempt to deliver the parcel within the guaranteed timescale then a refund is not available" .... I mean where does that leave me?! Seems like an extremely convenient get out clause for them. As long as their computer says there was an attempted delivery then that's it. They can leave a card, not leave a card, turn up, not turn up, it doesn't matter. It's a win win situation for them and a no win for me. I can't prove he didn't leave a card just in the same way that I can't prove that the driver in question just couldn't bothered that day. Congratulations Parcelforce on getting away with running such a rip off pointless service!!

Parcelfarce stole my wifes Christmas present, an 18 caret gold braclet inset with three black opals. I even had to pay parcelfarce £60.90 for it to clear customs and not be delivered. May I suggewst to those unhappy with the "service" this bunch of criminals provide, that, in future we all refuse to buy goods mail order if they use this woeful carrier. If as many as possible do this we may force one of 2 things, a change in customer satisfaction policy by parcelfarce, or better still the complete demise of this odious company.

Currently waiting for a package which was apparently picked up from seller on the 28th December 2009. It was supposedly sent via Parcelforce 24 - their next day delivery service. So much for that. What's more, I've read of numerous instances of parcelforce drivers simply dropping a delivery card through the door, when in fact their website claims that they deliver to addresses not people, and that if occupants are out, they will attempt to leave it with neighbours, which is clearly not the case.

With the snow that we have now, which already delayed the collection of my parcel by a week, I am beginning to think that it is unlikely that my parcel will be delivered this week at all.
